Rosscarbery Flour Mill was Established in the late 18th Century by Lt. W.H Lloyd, just to the south of the Mill Cross, on the site known as The Mill Yard. It was a large five-story building and at its peak, produced 5,000 barrels of flour annually. There was a small quay across the road from the Mill. In the early 1800’s the flour was moved in lighters or barges to the pier/quay near where The Causeway now stands.
